Skincare: Vedic Line+ SensiTone Face Wash for Sensitive Skin Review!

I have a thing for blue.Midnight blue and purple to be exact! I eat blue jellies even if they don't taste good ;)

  • The face wash comes in a beautiful blue packaging. The cap shuts tight.
  • Totally travel friendly and hygienic.
  • The liquid is transparent with a runny texture.
  • Foams easily.
  • It has a refreshing smell that helps me wake my sleepy nerves ;)
  • This face wash will work better on normal and oily skin as it slightly dries out my dry skin.
  • I need to apply moisturizer within 5-10 minutes to avoid the stretchy feeling.

  • Paraben free and not tested on animals
  • Did not irritate my skin and provided a cooling effect which is gng to be more than welcome in the summers !
  • Priced at Rs.150/- for 100 ml. Quite reasonable and these are mostly on discounts on Healthkart.com.

VERDICT:

A decent paraben free face wash that does its job well without boasting of tall claims ;)  Normal and oily skin will like it :)

Skincare: Vedic Line Sunscreen Gel Review!

Sunscreen is a very critical step in your skincare routine provided u have one ;)

It helps prevent pigmentation, sun spots, tanning and slows down aging. Most importantly, it reduces the risk of skin cancer :)

  • The Sunscreen gel comes in an orangish yellow tub.The cap screws shut tightly :) Travel friendly but not hygienic.
  • The sunscreen as mentioned is a creme gel.Sinks in instantly like a gel and is moisturizing like a cream :) The moisturization is obviously not as good as a proper moisturizer.

  • I have never used a sunscreen that does not sweat under the hot humid Chennai Sun.And boy was I glad that this gel did not let me down :) It does not stain/melt off/make me sweat!
  • Does not give a whitish cast.
  • Gives a cooling sensation on application that lasts a few seconds.
  • Since it gets absorbed I am not sure about it being waterproof.
  • I can easily give this 5 out of 5 for the above pros but wait there is more!
  • It is PARABEN FREE! and has natural ingredients.

  • Neutrogena costs 150 bucks for 30 ml while u get 65 ml for 210/-with this.
  • But the SPF is only 30. I just wish they had provided higher SPF like our Neutrogena that provides 50 + SPF :\
VERDICT:

This is one sunscreen that both dry and oily skin can easily take a liking to :) I think I will repurchase this for the coming summers (I am already dreading those months! )

Skincare: Olay Natural White Review and Swatches!

Olay has been my HG moisturizer for a lot of summers :)

I did not buy it for the fairness claims which is of course a marketing gimmick! Any skincare u wanna sell tag it with these words : Lightens, fairness, white skin tone and lo it will sell like a hot cake!

I had actually forgotten my moisturizer on a 2 day trip silly me! I went to a nearby pharmacy and the sachet caught my eye.Grabbed 2 sachets immediately. I am more than happy about the "forgot moisturizer" incident ;)

  • The 20 g tube is priced at Rs.99.
  • The cream is pinkish white in color.
  • The texture is soft and buttery.

  • Does not give whitish cast and gets absorbed instantly into my dry skin.
  • Does not make my skin greasy/oily and keeps it hydrated for long hours.
  • Skin does look brighter (not lighter) with continued usage.
  • Though it claims to provide UV protection, the SPF content has not been specified.Hence,I do not trust it for the sunscreen properties.

  • This is a through and through dry skin moisturizer. My friend who has combination skin found it greasy.Hence oily and combination skin ladies may find it thick despite the "non-greasy formula" claims.
  • May not hydrate the dry skin enough during the winters.
VERDICT:

If u have dry skin and need a well hydrating moisturizer, u need to give this a whirl ;) It brings my dry skin to life in the summers ;)

Skincare: Vivel 3-in-1 Face Wash + Scrub Review!

I am someone who sticks to a single cleanser but is unfaithful to her HG moisturizer. I swaer by Cetaphil cleanser. It is hands down the best cleanser I have used. Most of the face washes I have tried dry my skin and some feel slippery after use. But Cetaphil is great. Does not dry out and skin feels squeaky clean. Sorry I digress. This is supposed to be a review on the Vivel 3-in-1 face wash + scrub.

Read my cetaphil review here : Cetaphil Cleanser Review

Honestly I did not expect this face wash to work.I got this as a sample on purchase of Femina 2 weeks back.
So did the product impress me?? Yes Yes Yes! and why?

  • The packaging is in the form of the usual tube.Travel friendly and hygienic.
  • The liquid is transparent with blue scrub particles.
  • The smell I couldn't nail it but it reminds me of the clean and clear blackhead scrub.A lil detergenty but not much to bother ur senses.
  • The texture is gel like liquid. Not runny.

  • It lathers well.
  • The scrub particles are not gritty and will work well for sensitive skin too.
  • Face felt clean and moisturized ( yes u read it right! ).Not the slippery kind of moisturization. The good kind like You have applied a moisturizing gel on ur skin. And am mentioning gel because gels are not exactly the right products for dry skin like mine. Therefore u will need a cream over this after 15-20 minutes.
  • I did the Cetaphil test over this. Took a cotton ball with cetaphil and used all over my face. There were no traces of dirt on the cotton. Which means this face wash passed the test ;)If u r curious u can use a toner instead :)
  • This is no way a substitute for the regular scrub but will work well in case of emergencies :)
  • Price : Rs.65 for 50 ml.
VERDICT:
IMO this 3-in-1 face wash + scrub  deserves a spot in ur bag for a quick refresh :) For dry skin this is a thumbs up :)

Eyeliner Watch : Elle 18 Sparklers Swatches and Review!

Come Let me show you how ignorance kills you :) I was so impressed by the graphic design of the elle 18 sparklers that I got all the five without even swatching and waiting for reviews. And result ?? I am stuck with 5 chubby crayon pencils.

  • They cost me 85 bucks a pop.
  • They look like crayon pencils.Reminds me of NYX!
  • These eyeliners are soft, creamy and glide on easily. No tugging/pulling.
  • And because of the creamy texture they hardly last an hour or 2. That too I should be careful not to touch/rub them.
  • Pigmentation varies with each color.
  • All the shades give a pearly finish albeit the silver spark which is very shimmery.
  • Now to the shades:
  • Purple Pataka : Violet-pink shade.Average pigmentation.need 2 swipes to show up on my eyes
  • Silver Spark: Stark white shade with white OTT shimmers .Pathetic pigmentation.looks odd on the eyes.cannot be even used as a highlighter.
  • Green Grenade: Forest green shade.Average pigmentation.need 2 swipes.
  • Blue Blast: Beautiful navy blue shade. It is very pretty and has average pigmentation.
  • Gun Powder: My favorite. Metallic grey shade.I love this color. But I cannot find similar shade in other brands.Wish it had more staying power :(
  • If u guys know a dupe of this shade please notify me in the comments :)
 VERDICT:
If u are into funky non lasting shades and would rather get 5 colors instead of 2 then these are made for u :)

Elle 18 Lipstick in Luscious Lilac Review and Swatches!

When I was new to makeup, I read in some blogs that every girl should own a lipstick in every color family.I didn't know any better and set about getting a mauvish shade.I saw this in a store, bought it and went to another store and got the Mulberry splash from the same brand. 2 shades that are same albeit the shimmer and do not suit me at all. What was I thinking?? Yes the old me definitely needs ur sympathy :)

U can check out the review of  Mulberry Splash here :)

I am doing this review cuz this shade might suit some of u :)

  • Luscious Lilac is a purplish/violety shade with golden shimmers.
  • The shimmers are very fine and give a glossy sheen to the lips. They are definitely not frosty.
  • The texture is very soft and glides on smoothly.
  • It does not dry ur lips.U won't even need a lip balm with this unless u have very dry lips.D reason has been mentioned as the moisturising core :the white part in the middle. If u have a bright/dark shade, u can tone it down by mixing it with the core :)
  • Feels light on the lips.
  • The pigmentation is low but not as low as the Cinnamon one.U need 3 or 4 swipes to cover the lip discoloration.
  • It is prone to melting.Mine has turned into a gooey mess.So keep it in the refrigerator if U want to save it from macabre ;)
  •  Using a lip brush to apply this works better than direct application.
  • This particular shade does not suit me.Makes me look like a patient admitted for poisoning!
  • Just wish it had lil pink in it to suit me.
VERDICT:
Pocket friendly option for the college going makeup junkies :) U can experiment with shades from this range without causing serious harm to ur wallet.Shades like Pomegranate pie, cinnamon and roasty red are great options :)

Blush lust: Inglot Powder Blush in AMC 58 Review and Swatches!

I like saving the best always for the last like I eat my cucumbers last in a salad ;) Now u should connect d ... (dots) and realize I am asserting that Inglot AMC blush in 58 is my favorite :D I like the color red for blushes and wanted to get the Inglot blush no.63 after seeing swatches online. But majorbrands does not offer that shade :( So I  had to settle for this blush.

  • The packaging is d same.Blush in a metal pan placed inside a plastic case.U need a palette if u r not prudent.
  • Retails for Rs. 350/- for 6g.Now that is economical thou I would never hit pan with this :P
  • The color is a beautiful reddish pink.

Single swipe!

  • As it is AMC, the texture is softer than the normal range blushes. And there is substantial fall out.I try not to swirl my brush on the blush as I do with my other blushes.Swirling the brush makes me feel like a youtube guru :P
  • Pigmentation wise it rocks. One swipe is great for that MCBB effect.I have found reddish pink blush works out to be more natural than plain pink ones on me.
  • It has absolutely no shimmers in it :) yay for tat!
  • Staying power is nearly 5 hrs without any foundation underneath.
  • This would work well across most skin tones.
  • I never used to wear blush on an everyday basis. But nowadays Blush has become a must wear sort of thing. It instantly perks up my face and keeps me looking fresh day long :)

VERDICT:
I am in love with the blush so much so I wear it even at home!My mum gives me weird glances but that doesn't matter ;) Please go and get this one for me :D

Comment below and let me know if u liked this blush :)

SkinCare: Lotus AlphaMoist Hydroxy Moisturiser Review!

I am a great fan of Lotus skin care products :) I have used their Aloehydra moisturiser(perfect for normal-oily skin),Jojoba facewash(one with the milli capsules),Clay mask(which was a disappontment) and their Lip Therapy which are the best non tinted lip balms :)

My skin is now normal-dry and I wanted a day moisturiser that would not make me sweat and provide proper hydration.I had the choice of Alphamoist and Sheamoist. But I didn't find the smell of sheamoist much to my liking.

Price : 185/- Rs. for 80 ml

Packaging : It comes in a bottle with a nozzle at the top which helps u control the amount. But the cap does not hold strong as with other lotus products. It is loosely held and can break easily. And cuz of this it is not travel friendly.

Texture: The texture is between creme and gel.I find it a lil similar to the Lotus Micro emulsion. The moisturizer is water based hence u wont find it heavy or greasy :)

Color: The cream is white in color but becomes transparent as u blend it.U won't find any whitish cast.

smooth hydrated skin :)

Finish: Since it is water based it does not make skin oily.Instead it provides good hydration
to the skin for a healthy glow :) Does not mattify the skin if u are looking for it and does not cause oiliness either.

It does not make tall claims of whitening or brightening which is good considering most of the products which claim fail at that!

Being a day moisturiser it lacks in SPF which is a high con but I make peace with it since I always apply my Neutrogena SPF 50 + Sunscreen.

My Verdict: A moisturiser that will suit normal, oily and dry skin but extreme dry/oily skin can look for other options like Aloe vera gels(oily skin) and Aroma Magic Almond lotion/Olay/Lotus gel creme/Lakme Peach milk for dry skin :)
Also it might not suit dry skin in the winters.

RATING :
4.2 out of 5

Hope u find my review helpful :) Happy Shopping!

Back with Elle 18 Mulberry Splash Review and Swatches!!

U guys might have seen my status on Fb mentioning my intentions to "quit blogging" but after I saw ur comments I took time to think and was like hell!this is something I like doing..sharing my experiences gives me a high :D So am back with the review of Elle 18 lipstick in Mulberry Splash!!

Elle 18 products are dirt cheap but I never got them before the relauch !! I got all the sparklers, black out eyeliner, lipgloss in berry bomb and this particular shade of lipstick!

I was looking for a mauve shade and there were no testers available so I ended up looking at the catalog and got this. After coming home and excitedly applying it I vowed never to get a mauve lippie :(

It is a purplish mauve color with silver shimmers..has more of grey undertones ...it is very sheer and u need 3 swipes for a proper color and they are nt drying..but do settle on fine lines! The shimmer doesn't suit this particular color. The color stays for an hour without eating or drinking otherwise it vaporizes completely..not even a slight hint of stain.
About this shade,I hate it..it transforms into a grey shade with silver shimmers on my lips :@ I cannot wear it even at my home.
Overall the lipstick is so and so..u can try shades like pomegranate pie, fruitopia and other pinks and reds.It has lot of shades to choose from!!And extremely pocket friendly..great options for college students!!U can carry them with u as they are snug but be careful as the packaging is flimsy..drop it more than thrice ur lippie would be squashed ;) and the heat too can ruin ur lippie!
Here is how it looks on my lips :

Lipstick Love : StreetWear Color Riche lipcolor in Pink Satin

So long!!! I am just gonna do a short review on the pink satin lippie from the streetwear color riche lip color range. This was a random purchase as I had only 150 bucks at hand so I just moved to the streetwear counter and asked for lipsticks. The SA showed me lippies from the 220/- range. Then I remembered reading a review of the lipsticks from a lower range on IMBB.Now, the SA showed me some 4/5 colors and this was the only color that felt wearable to me! So Now I have the Pink satin!

PROS:
1. Low budget lippie
2. The color is very intense.
3. U can vary the intensity to suit all skin tones.
4. Doesn’t dry lips.

CONS:
1. The packaging is very cheap...Expected for this price
2. The color bleeds.

3. U must keep it in the refrigerator as it tends to melt.
4. Only few colors to choose from and most are very dark.

RATING:
:D :D and half :D

RECO:
U can try this for the intense color otherwise skip it !!
