Must have blushes for Indian Skin!

Chaliya Chaliya ..Don't look at me like that boy! That song is strangely addictive u know!

If u r one of the beauty junkies who owns several lipsticks and blushes but still hit Google baba looking for the must have makeup products for Indian skin then give me a high five :D I had wanted to post such a compilation for long but never had the time.

The blushes would suit both fair and dusky skin :)

  • Rosy Pink  : Inglot 27 is said to be the dupe of MAC desert rose. It has a satin finish and does not look like a patch of pink on the cheeks. Rather it gives a well rested look. Priced at rs.350/- for refill and 720/- for a pot.

  • Neutral Pink : Every girl needs a neutral pink blush that she can blindly reach out in case of confusion ;) NYX Tea Rose is one such beige pink blush that gives a dewy fiinsh. Oily skin may not like the finish. Priced at Rs. 650/- in India.

  • Coral : We Indians tend to underestimate the power of corals and stick to browns and pinks. But coral is an excellent choice we need to explore more often. Lakme Day Blushes is a stunning coral peach pink blush with a satin finish and has tiny shimmers that make the skin glow. Absolute must have. I have a backup of this ;) Retails for Rs.550/- and worth the moolah!

  • Medium Peach : I have not seen a peach blush that is prettier than Faces Burnt Sienna. Sadly it is discontinued and mine is all broken. It has a hint of orange that makes it warm and wearable.

  • Shimmery Peach : U know all the hype around bronzers at International beauty cafes! But IMO bronzers do not suit me. Bronzers look muddy or orangy to me. So I suggest switching to a shimmery peach blush :) MUA no.5 is cheap apart from being a delightful combination of peach and gold! Got it for half pound at 50% off

  • Medium Pink: One swipe of the Maybelline Soft plum blush and u would fall in love with blushes ;) That is how it happened with me. If u r not a mousse blush person u can try Bourjois Rose Frisson blush which is the same shade but in baked powder form. Soft plum costed me Rs.200/- but is discontinued now and Rose frisson is priced at Rs.500 I think.

Apart from these it would be great to own :
  • Red : yes! Red blush :P They look pretty too :) Youth red from Kryolan is a good option for a matte red blush at Rs. 350/-

  • Brown : brown?? Why the ?? For contouring purposes! U never know when the occasion would demand for a slimmer facade ;) Again priced at Rs.350/- Kryolan Mocha blush comes to the rescue. Or get a matte bronzer!
From L-R : Maybelline Soft Plum,Inglot 27,Faces Burnt Sienna,MUA no.5,Lakme Day Blushes,NYX Tea Rose,Kryolan Youth Red,Kryolan Mocha

P.S: If u r wondering y it is always 8 in my compilation posts 8 is my lucky number ;)

Blush Lust: Faces Glam On Powder Blush in Crimson Swatches and Review!

Do you like me shy away from shimmers??But still want that extra oomph for occasions??Then look nowhere, but here!Presenting Faces Glam On powder Blush in Crimson..bam bam bam (guitar duh!)

I have never been a fan of shimmers!I remember wearing the Maybelline frosted blush with silver shimmers for my bro's wedding. It gives me nightmares.Okay don't look at me like tat.I was hardly into makeup that time and didn't know what I was dng :\
But shimmers are MANDATORY for Indian weddings and festivals. So here am reviewing the blush u anti shimmers might give a thot ;)

  • Will set u back by Rs.400/-
  • It is encased in a tiny round box and has a small mirror inside which is very useful.
  • The packaging is sturdy and the case itself is highly reflective that U can use it as a mirror :)

  • Faces blush in Crimson is a beautiful  bright warm pink shade with *obvious* golden shimmers. The shimmers look OTT in the pan so much so I nearly regretted it.

  • But on application and proper blending it turns out to be an enticing flush with a superb glow. The shimmers are not obvious if u don't stand under direct light. So they add glow needed for the festive season without gng overboard :)

  • The pigmentation is insane.U can easily look like a clown. So I wud suggest starting with a light application and then building up d intensity :)
  • As I mentioned before, Blending is the key.U need to blend blend blend otherwise the blush looks patchy.
  • The texture is powdery and there is substantial fall out.

  • The finish is a between satiny to subtle shimmery.
  • It lasts for about 6-7 hours on me :) I wore this on the morning of Diwali and it lasted on me till evening after which I did a touch up for the puja.
VERDICT:
Will suit fair to dark skintones :) Fair skin tones need to use it sparingly.
I evidently won't use this for everyday wear but IMO this is the best for party wear if u are on budget and are not much inclined to shimmers. And beginners would find it ominous to work with but I love pigmented blushes so this one gets a Thumbs Up from me :)

Faces Metal Brown Eyepencil Review and Swatch!!

Now someone who hasn’t heard of how great Faces eye pencils are, was definitely in another world ;)
Am going to review the Eye pencil in the shade Metal Brown! It is a gorgeous brown with shimmers which gives it a rustic look :) I ordered this from stylecraze but was not sure about the shade. But once I made a swatch I went gaga over it. It lacks the harshness of the black liner. The shimmer is not OTT and makes this color so pretty (see!Am head over heels in love with it ).

the shimmer is only slightly visible in the swatch!

Price:250/-(I got it for 224 from stylecraze)

PROS:
  •  The color: It is Oh! So gorgeous .
  • The shimmer doesn’t transfer over the lid or the lower lash line.
  • Faces has 11 shades in the range..Each one is pretty.
  • The eyepencils are Waterproof and smudgeproof !!
  • The color is intense. Single swipe and u r gud to go ;)
  • Price is reasonable :) Colorbar I-glide pencils cost 350/- and u get the same for 250/- bucks!
  • They are creamy and easily glide to give perfect strokes-I prefer pencil liners as they take lesser time and are easier to apply.
  • I have finally found the pencil liners that meet my expectations so well. In Bliss :D
CONS:
  •  Difficult to remove. I use olive oil!
  • It is of sharpening kind and everytym u sharpen u lose some amount of the awesome product :( They could have made this retractable ones
 No other con!!
RATING:
4.85 OUT OF 5

RECO:
I am eyeing the purple, forest green, turquoise and black ones from this range and will keep repurchasing  these all my life :D :D

Have u entered my GlossyBox Giveaway?? :D I would feel great if u enter it :) :) Check the link on the sidebar :)

Review of UrbanTouch.com!!

So I ordered NYX Cream Blush in Tea Rose from UrbanTouch.com :) I had placed the order on Friday:2/12/2011.
They sent a confirmation mail immediately and mentioned they would ship within 4-6 working days(mon-fri).
Then on Sat they mailed me saying they have shipped my order.
They provide free shipping for purchases above Rs.300 !
I expected them to mail me specifying the day I would receive my goods but I didn't receive :|
On tuesday The Bluedart guy called me up and confirmed my address and I received my goods on Wednesday.
I wish they could have called before coming that day.
But I am happy with the packaging :) And since I had ordered for above 500 I got a surprise gift :) It turned out to be a Nail Filer from Faces and priced at Rs.65 :)
The blush was carefully wrapped in a bubble wrap and lots of thermocols were placed over and around the wrap :)

Incidentally I received a mail from them saying that They could not ship due to unclear shipment address :@ a day after I received my goods!
This really irritated me but am overall satisfied with their services :)
They provide discounts on certain products and a variety of brands and products are on display :)
It is a good shopping option when we are too busy for real time shopping :)

Blush Lust:Faces Amber Rose Blush Review and Swatches!!

Another Blush in my collection! Wat else do u expect from me :P I got this for Diwali :) The SA swatched this and It had shimmers in it while I wanted a total matte blush. But the other colours didn’t hook me the way Amber Rose did and I am so glad I got this! It is from the FACES Mineral range. The cost is also higher-Rs.400 and the amount is also less-only 6g.

It is a honey coloured blush and has good amount of golden shimmers in it. But the shimmers are not OTT.They give a healthy glow to the skin. It is a warm sort of colour and It looks gorgeous.
PROS:
1.  The colour is beautiful.
2.  The packaging..Hmm not sure but I like the mirror. Handy for touch-ups.I haven’t used the brush.
3. Warms up my face instantly.
4. Very smooth.
5. Pigmentation is well enuf.
CONS:
1.       400 for 6g is lil pricey.
NO OTHER CON FOR ME ;)
RATING:
:D :D :D :D and :D Best Diwali purchase:D
