Revlon Colorburst Lip gloss in Strawberry Fraise Review and Swatches!

I love strawberries in all forms but Ice cream. If I have ice cream which is rare, it would Chocolate with Choco syrup and Choco chip sprinkles ;)

So when Revlon launched the Colorburst lip glosses, the Strawberry shade walked into my wishlist. And since I was mostly broke I totally forgot about this shade. Recently when I was in H & G and checking for the availability of Mirrored mauve shade from Maybelline for the hundredth time, I swatched this and fell in love :)

The Revlon Colorburst lip gloss comes in a long transparent tube with quilted black cap.

The applicator is doe foot type. The application does not come out even on the lips and I smudge and even out with my fingers every time.

Priced at Rs. 500 for 5.9 ml. Yup hiked prices ;)

The gloss is a juicy pink shade with silver shimmers that do not look stark but give a sparkly look to the lips. The lip gloss does not work as office wear for me. More of a casual wear.

If there was a creamy lipstick version of this shade minus the sparkles I doubt it would ever be In Stock ;)

The gloss has a slightly sticky texture and the shimmers are a tad gritty but nothing majorly bothersome.

Pigmentation is good. It can cover medium pigmentation in a single coat.

The gloss moisturizes my lips as long as it lasts. Well most glosses do that.

The shade lasts for max 3 hours and does not leave any stain.

Will not wash any skin color but can look too bright on very fair skin. If u r fair skinned and love bright shades, u will love this lady :)

VERDICT

A pretty pink lip gloss that is good for the price it retails for :) Revlon Colorburst lip glosses are simply a class apart !

The shade is copper and it has tiny glitter particles perfect for the night out to make you stand amongst the rest. It is buildable and will look incredible on wheatish skin ^_^. <3 the way it blends on to the skin and remains there for a very looooooooooooong time.
I give this blush an A+++ :*

Editor's Note : I had wanted to pick this up  but the SA kept saying it would not suit me and would look muddy :( But next time I am picking this up for sure :) Fantastic Pics hon! Luks gorgeous on ur hands :)

Blush Lust: Inglot Blush No.32 Review and Swatches!

Now Don't sigh and skip this post murmuring another Blush post :P What else would u expect here at my blog! maybe I would rename it the Blushing Geek?? Tomato with glasses??

I am not someone u can call an impulsive shopper.Maybe cuz of the fact that I can't take chances with my meager pocket money ;)
But this particular blush I got on an impulse as 29/30 was unavailable on majorbrands.I wanted to get 55 which has been described online as cool toned plum.I put that into my cart but replaced it with this on in d last minute.
Lesson learnt: First hunch should always be heeded to ;)

  • The packaging is same as that of other blush refills: blush housed in a metal pan  and placed inside a plastic case. Not sturdy but will do.

  • Retails for Rs.350/- per pan for 6g (thou it has been mentioned as 7g online)
  • And please don't go by the swatches put up by the site as there are seriously misleading!
  • The color is coral pink (I can see a lil peach too) with silver shimmers.

  • It has medium pigmentation. All u need is a single swipe.
  • I use it a highlighter cum blush.
  • The shimmers are not OTT but u need to be careful.U can brush off the shimmers to some extent :)
  • I don't prefer shimmery blushes.But if u r okay with/like shimmery blushes then u will love this :)
  • The texture is  smooth and powdery. And the fallout is less compared to the other 2 blushes I own.
  • The finish has low level of shimmers so that works well for the in between categories like bday partys.
  • Staying power is average.Lasts like for 3 hours on me and then d color fades leaving behind some shimmers.not ugly thou.
  • Will suit fair and dusky skin tones.
VERDICT:
If u like shimmers/do not mind them then U will like the blush! It is such a pretty coral :) I only wish it was matte. But I make do as a highlighter :)

Warm Copper:Lakme Glide On EyeColor Review and Swatches!

Indians and warm skin tones go hand in hand! And Gold is the most flattering color for warmer tones as Silver is for cooler ones :) And Lakme has hit it right with the Colors in the Glide on Eye color range like Henna Gold,Warm Copper,Plush Purple...
I own Warm Copper from these and Eying the Henna gold next which is presumably a shimmery Khakhi color :)

PACKAGING: It comes in a black pencil case with a transparent cap which is d only way to know the color.Packaging is very simple but could have been better and sturdier for the price. It retails for 275/- rupees. This one is definitely a "Handle with care" type!

TEXTURE: It is definitely a plus. The tip just glides dreamily. So creamy and No tugging.Just a smooth application.I am blown by this.It does tend to smudge but since it is so smooth no complaints here! But be careful while sharpening it crumbled when I tried to sharpen it.

PIGMENTATION: Pigmentation is great and similiar or even better than the Faces eye pencils.A single swipe is enuf to brighten up ur eyes but I like going over again to make it more popping.

COLOR: The color is a gorgeous gold color..to me it looks like pure gold..the way new jewels shine! Not the dull gold color.U can use it all over the lid for last minute party eye makeup and line ur upper lids with a shimmery brown liner or an olive eyeshadow or liner.
swipped once
I wanted to show u how pretty the shade looks when paired with purple :)

LASTING POWER: Lasting power is average compared to Faces liner..lasts on my lids for 4 hours. It tends to smudge too.I tend to compare all my liners to Faces one unintentionally :P Wish Faces had a gold one!

Pros:
  • Fab shade which will compliment warm skin tones
  • I am pretty sure it is waterline safe as it didn't sting me.
  • One of the few gems that our Desi Brand Lakme has produced
  • Creamy and well pigmented.
Cons:
  • Smudges a lot
  • Pricey for the quality.Faces eye liners are waterproof and last more than 8 hours.
  • Packaging could have been better.
  • Sharpening is tricky.
RATING: 3.1 out of 5

RECO: If u already own a gold shade u can skip this very well!

Lipstick Love: Colorbar Velvet Matte:Rum Raisin Review and Swatches!

After hearing everyone rave about the Colorbar Velvet matte lipsticks and tat too the shade Obsessed Orange I went to SS only to get disappointed they had only 4 or 5!Went scouring to H&G where they had some 15 shades but not the orangy one :( :( Then I thot I had to have a orange lipstick so asked them about Maybelline Bronzy Orange..my bad the counter was empty!I went to NH and didn't find Bronzy Orange there too..sigh!!I wanted to get Faces..They have a beautiful warm orange shade but I also wanted to get a fuchsia shade :P Now I was literally in tears..sob sob but didn't want to give up so went back and asked about Lipice lipbalms..they didn't have the color changing ones !! It was too much to bear but still I went ahead got Oh My Magenta.I swatched other lippies too..they were inviting but I got this particular Rum Raisin since I do not own any dark shades it caught my fancy and I brought the baby home :) Suma had suggested to try hot hot hot on lipstick reco long bak but when I swatched the shade I balked :\ But it is definitely a gorgeous red :)

PRICE: 250/- but on Stylecraze u can get it for 225/-

Single swipe:so intense!

PACKAGING: The first lipstick which I bought was from Colorbar and It was in a square tube. And now they come in silver cylindrical tubes. The packaging is pretty sturdy and the cap clicks shut satisfactorily..u need not worry about broken lipsticks with this one.The bottom of the tube has a paint/lipstick that lets us know the exact shade of the lipstick. And it looks classy too ;)

COLOR AND TEXTURE: The shade Rum Raisin is a deep maroon shade with little plum and is a versatile color that will suit fair and dusky skin tones alike. It is a pretty intense color to be worn in daytime and will be perfect for functions. It glides over the lips smoothly but def nt creamy.U can't expect that from a matte lipstick I guess ;) Does tend to settle into fine lines after sometime.U def need a high power lipbalm like Lotus cocoa under this if u have dry lips like mine.It smells like agarbatthi to me.

PIGMENTATION: It is highly pigmented.U need only a single swipe to cover the discolorations of lips.As I already mentioned, it is an intense color. And does not contain any shimmers.I hate shimmers or frostiness in lipsticks(except Revlon peach).

LASTING POWER: This particular attribute disappointed me a lot.Usually lipsticks tend to last on my lips on a n avg of 3 hrs.I read reviews of this range that it lasts easily for 6 hrs.But this shade lasted on me only for 3 hrs :( Other lippies are atleast creamy. After 3 hours it leaves a pinkish tint that I am liking.I tried Oh My Magenta.Wore it in the morning and it lasted me for nearly 6 hrs!

PROS:
  • Deep marron shade that is flattering on most skin tones.
  • Sturdy and classy packaging
  • Reasonably priced.
  • Awesome range for shade selection
  • Lasting power is great for other shades.
CONS:
  • The previous lipsticks were creamier.
  • Lasting power is okayish for this particular shade.
  • Strong incense smell which lasts as long as u are wearing the lipstick :(
  • Dry lips will have problems with this one.
  • Even after applyin lipbalm underneath it tends to become dry and settles into fine lines after half and hour or so.I keep applying lipbalm over this.
  • The pinkish tint left by both Rum Raisin and On My Magenta is the same even thou both are poles apart.one is a deep darker shade and another is a bright fuchsia shade.
  • It is difficult to remove the satins from the lips.U need a oil based makeup remover.I use the chambor one from Blisscovered :)
RATING: :D :D :D out of 5

RECO: I would definitely recommend this shade. It makes up for the low staying power. And lips tend to get dry with matte lipsticks :) But be sure to smell the lipsticks at the counter ;)

P.S.: Obsessed Orange is available on stylecraze now..Boohoo..It was not there when I was looking for it :( Y me?? :( I can't stop dreaming of u my orange baby :\

This was a random purchase as I had only 150 bucks at hand so I just moved to the streetwear counter and asked for lipsticks. The SA showed me lippies from the 220/- range. Then I remembered reading a review of the lipsticks from a lower range on IMBB.Now, the SA showed me some 4/5 colors and this was the only color that felt wearable to me! So Now I have the Pink satin!

PROS:

3. U can vary the intensity to suit all skin tones.
4. Doesn’t dry lips.

CONS:

Amway Attitude Duo Blusher in Natural Haze Review

Amway launched the duo blusher in India sometime back in only one shade i.e. the Natural Haze and knowing my craze for blushes my sweet mum got it :* :*

This is what the website claims:
The blusher provides you with ultimate colour purity, silky smooth texture, even finish and unprecedented adherence. Its colour blends evenly and flawlessly on your cheeks to give you a smooth and soft feel and provides true colour to your cheeks. The palette comes with an easy-to-use applicator, which helps in smooth application.
*It comes in a cute dabba with 2 colors, a small brush and a cute mirror. The brush is handy and okayish to apply the blush once u get accustomed to its small size. :) The peachy pink blush is pretty and has medium pigmentation. And the other one is a brownish golden shade and has low pigmentation. Both have shimmers while the 2nd one has higher percentage.

The left one is the swatch of the pink one and the right of the brown one 
PROS:
1. Both the colors are pretty.
2. Blends beautifully.
3. Small and compact.
4. Gud quality
5. I tried combining the colors on my cheeks and got a nice peachy shade 
CONS:
1.The amount is less-3g for 375 bucks.
2.Shimmers!Though subtle I prefer matte :)

I recommend u guys get this one for the duality and cute briefcase packing :) Otherwise u can skip this ;)
Rating:
:d :D :D :D -1 for the less amount:\

RECO:
