I have come a long way from being a pale gal wearing baggy salwar kameez. Though I am no style diva now I can at least say that I look a hell lot better than I used to thanks to all the weight loss and makeup  :)

Makeup Love from 2012!

I got fewer makeup in 2012 as in 2011 cuz of setbacks. But the products I purchased were mostly satisfactory :) and what is more I wore more makeup last year :D So here is me posting some photos of makeup that I loved to bits!

Maybelline Berry Brilliant Lipstick : The combination of fuchsia, berry and plum works amazingly well and brightens up my face like no other lipstick! Read my rave here. 

Inglot Blush in AMC 58 : Top notch quality and reasonable pricing make this reddish pink blush a winner! Review HERE.

Lakme Insta Liner : I always had problems with liquid liners.But last year I fell in love with liquid liners thanks to Lakme :) Elle 18 step back. Not yet reviewed.

Amway Attitude Kajal in Coal : Hands down the best kajal I have ever used ;) Smooth application, lesser smudging, better staying power and not to mention the jet black intensity!More info at: Amway Attitude kajal Coal Review

 
Lakme Blusher in Day Blushes : My recent acquisition and I am already hooked :P Yet to be reviewed.

Lakme Eyeconic Mascara : I can skip my curler guilt free with this.Wine for the parched eyes! Yet to be Reviewed.

Lotus Alphamoist Moisturizer : I know the title is misleading :P This one works for a range of skin types and am a happy girl! Check out more here

 
Photoban 30 : My sunscreen prescription.Blending is a breeze and makes my skin look good ( I have no idea how). Read a preview HERE.

 
Aroma Magic Rose Oil : Benefaction for dry skin.I use it in my mask, scrub and night cream.Does not feel oily and soothes the skin.Yet to be reviewed.

Auravedic Skin Polish : Best scrub used till date. Free of chemicals and hey it works :) Read about it HERE .

Vaseline Cocoa Glow Body Lotion : Smells great and moisturizes very well.Preview here.

So that's it! Now when I look at the list, I realize Lakme is my most used brand :O Lakme has proved it is still the desi fav of us Indians :)

Back To Basics : Winter Skincare for Dry skin

I just saw a re-reun of Safe starring Jason Statham!He kicks some a**!And the last dialogue by him in tat movie was:"One day at a tym". Now that reminded me how I blog fervently sometyms and then poof short-circuit :P So I am going to do d same :) Focus One post at a tym :)

Moving onto my post, I surmise seasons got confused.They didn't know who was supposed to reign :\
And my skin bore the blunt.It became horribly dry even before the *mild* winter started.Nothing I had worked.So I devised a new routine with basic skincare stuff that cost quarter of the other branded items.

 

The products that I use for Winter :

•  Cetaphil cleanser for sensitive skin:I use only this cleanser these days.It cleans my skin without drying it out.Check out my review here .Price:Rs.110/-
• Dabur Gulabari : I use this rose water for toning.Price:Rs.20/-
•  Nivea Creme: This is my saviour _/\_ _/\_ I warm it on my fingers and on cleansed face, I massage the thick cream and then doze off.In the morning I get baby soft skin and need only light moisturisers to keep me going.I apply this on my lips too.Price:Rs.39/-
• Ponds Moisturising cold cream: I don't use this much after getting the Nivea creme.But if u have normal-dry skin this will help u :) Price:Rs.35/-
• Aroma Magic Almond lotion: I use this for the day.Review here. Price:Rs.130/-
• Lotus Lip Therapy in Cocoa: My lips are perennially dry.But this one along with the nivea creme keeps my lips hydrated :) Price:Rs.95/- not sure.
• Maybelline baby lips in Mango Pie: I got this when my lips were super dry.It hydrated my lips but required frequent reapplications.Lotus lip therapy does a better job thou.Price:Rs.150/-
• Vaseline cocoa glow body lotion: The hot water baths and the melting choco smell with awesome hydration..do I need to say more??U can check out a mini review here :) Price:Rs.65/- for 100 ml.

I am currently not using any face packs.Any suggestions??

Products Being Loved!

My skin has improved a lot but I am still staying away from Blushes!It is Lipstick love all the way these days :)

So the products am using and loving for a while now :

• Lotus Alphamoist Moisturiser : It is moisturising and oil free.Oil free is a bonus since Chennai weather makes me sweat a lot and alphamoist stands the heat :) My skin is now between normal and dry.But I can't use this for winters..not enough.Extremely Dry skinned ppl plz stay away. REVIEW coming soon!
• Maybelline Colorsensational The Jewels Berry Brilliant Lipstick : I seriously didn't want a shade from the Jewels Collection!Thot no shade would look good on me.But gave in and got this ;) The shades are all fall.shades and sooooooo moisturising.Rubylicious and this one are my fav :) Grab one if u haven't! Detailed REVIEW soon!
• Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara : I am now bored of Kareena.Seems like she is everywhere..every ad, every Tv serial, every reality show phew!But I liked her catchy eyes in the Lakme Eyeconic ad and hence got this :)

• Himalaya Revitalizing Night Cream : Nights are cold now and I need an oil based cream to prevent peeling skin and this baby fits the bill perfectly ;) Doesn't make my skin oily ,is moisturising and imparts a healthy glow in the morning.This is my 4th tub :)
• Vaseline Cocoa Glow Body Lotion : The heavenly smell!And the moisturization make it one of the best body lotions available in our country ;) I have done a mini review on it here .
• Bourjois Levres Contour pencil in Peche Voluptese : This is a peachy orange lip pencil and would be a great buy for fair skin :) Another pending review.
• Lotus Herbals Kajal : This is my favorite after the Amway Attitude Kajal.Is less smudgy than Himalaya kajal and I have a special thing for herbal stuff  :D

My Tryst with Body Lotions!!

I wanted to do this post from a long tym!Just to provide a compilation on the various body lotions I use.U can read a similar post on Sunscreens here.

I love moisturizers and body lotions and hope to hoard some body butters tis tym when TBS has a sale ;)

Parachute Advansed Body lotion: I have the Intense care for dry skin kind.Costs 49/- rs for 100 ml.It smells like Jasmine thou it mentions "milk of coconut fruit". The texture is runny and gets absorbed instantly into the skin.It is moisturising but not well enough for a *dry skin lotion* . Also the skin stays hydrated for maybe 4 hrs. Oily skinned might find it a lil clammy. But the downside is it gets washed away easily :( Overall an good moisturizer for dry skin in summers but come winters this won't hold up ;)

Parachute Advansed Summer Fresh Body Lotion: I love the smell of this lotion.Berrry Fresh and minty!And to top it it gives a tingling sensation on applying which is so good.Consistency wise it is runnier than the intense care variety and is less hydrating.It lasts probably for 2 hrs.But perfect for the hot humid days and a great choice for oily skin :)Costs same as that of the intense care lotion.

Vaseline Healthy White Lotion: I am not a fan of its smell. It is slighter thicker compared to the parachute and has a creamy feel to it.Hydration is good too :) But lightening effects?? I got this mainly cuz I have severely tanned hands and feet and this did not help me a bit.And the triple sunscreen part is so nt true I still get tanned if I do not use a sunscreen.But I have read in some blogs that this helped after a prolonged usage (1 yr or more). Costs  65/- Rs for 100 ml.

Vaseline Cocoa Glow Lotion: Oh my Love! Chocolates are my weakness.And this smells thou doesn't smell exactly like chocolate it reminds me of cocoa and coconut bars :D It makes me feel pampered.The color is brownish white and is thick in consistency like whipped cream! And brushes off dry skin.Hydrates my skin for 7 hrs or so :)  Takes little time to sink in but I am overlooking tat.Also it is a fight for me to get the product out.I am getting the pump type once the current get over.Perfect body lotion for dry skin with its soothing aroma and moisturizing capabilities.It will work great even during monsoons and winters :) Oily and normal skin gals can pick for m and w :) Costs 65/- rs for 100 ml.

Vaseline Total Moisture Nourishing Body Lotion: Best moisturiser for the Winters Hands down :) Has thick consistency like cocoa glow and takes some minutes to get absorbed but keeps dry flaky skin at bay.Skin feels smooth even in winters!I can't pinpoint the smell but it is decent.Elbows and knees love it ;) Costs  65/- for 100 ml.

H2O+ Spa Salt Hydrating Body Butter: I hate the smell..salty and algae. Has cream like consistency and is greasy.Takes some time to get absorbed.It is heavy in summers even for my dry skin.Very hydrating and keeps my skin supple for long :) I got this as a part of my Blisscovered box.U can try it for the winters!

Nivea Whitening Cell Repair And UV Protect Body Lotion: I like the smell of this 1 :) It is runny and takes hell lot of time to get absorbed and is not a great moisturizer.Claims to remove tan and repair sun damage layer by layer due to the presence of 40% more Vitamin C compared to..ummm no idea.It  is light and will work for normal and oily skin.But the cell repair part..I did not see any results after using it for 30 days religiously which is a feat by itself for me ;) Lets say I am more patient and hence willing to give it more time to work ;) Will update u if I see any results. Costed me 180 in discount thou it is priced at 210/- I think.

Dove Shimmer Body Lotion : I got this for use for parties and functions.The smell is okay with me but many won't find it appealing.Consistency is between thick and runny.Provides good moisturization.It does give a lil glow to my skin.This will suit normal skin better.I got it more for the shimmer part than for the lotion part :P

St.Ives Whipping Silk Body Lotion: I have already reviewed it here and it is nearing expiry.I am going to finish this off..such a huge bottle it is.Retails for 290/- Rs. for 520 ml.Great na?? This is the body lotion I would use if I had to use only one all my life.The smell is not great like cocoa glow but it is close to my heart :heart: It is thick in texture and is pump type which helps in controlling the amount u need.But not travel friendly of course.Is not greasy.It gets absorbed within seconds and keeps my skin hydrated for a full day.Imagine!! And Tada..It is paraben free and does not involve animal testing ;)It was my Savior last winter but not right for summers.
