Revlon Colorburst Lip gloss in Strawberry Fraise Review and Swatches!

I love strawberries in all forms but Ice cream. If I have ice cream which is rare, it would Chocolate with Choco syrup and Choco chip sprinkles ;)

So when Revlon launched the Colorburst lip glosses, the Strawberry shade walked into my wishlist. And since I was mostly broke I totally forgot about this shade. Recently when I was in H & G and checking for the availability of Mirrored mauve shade from Maybelline for the hundredth time, I swatched this and fell in love :)

The Revlon Colorburst lip gloss comes in a long transparent tube with quilted black cap.

The applicator is doe foot type. The application does not come out even on the lips and I smudge and even out with my fingers every time.

Priced at Rs. 500 for 5.9 ml. Yup hiked prices ;)

The gloss is a juicy pink shade with silver shimmers that do not look stark but give a sparkly look to the lips. The lip gloss does not work as office wear for me. More of a casual wear.

If there was a creamy lipstick version of this shade minus the sparkles I doubt it would ever be In Stock ;)

The gloss has a slightly sticky texture and the shimmers are a tad gritty but nothing majorly bothersome.

Pigmentation is good. It can cover medium pigmentation in a single coat.

The gloss moisturizes my lips as long as it lasts. Well most glosses do that.

The shade lasts for max 3 hours and does not leave any stain.

Will not wash any skin color but can look too bright on very fair skin. If u r fair skinned and love bright shades, u will love this lady :)

VERDICT

A pretty pink lip gloss that is good for the price it retails for :) Revlon Colorburst lip glosses are simply a class apart !

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Papaya Review and Swatches!

Smack ur lips and say "papaya" to beget juicy summer lips!

Picture urself wearing cute skirts and stepping out in trendy wedges!Zoom in to ur face. Nothing but tinted moisturizer. And a hint of coral glossiness on ur lips that just lightens up ur face ;)

Revlon papaya is the answer to ur prayers for subtle yet pretty coral lips.

It comes in a long tube.Almost double in size to that of the maybelline watershines.Has the trademark checkered pattern over its cap and a transparent body that helps u to identify the color of the gloss instantly.

Pretty expensive for a lip gloss but u get a huge quantity of 5.9 ml for 500 bucks.

This gloss was a superhit with bloggers across the nation but I was not enamored by the color. Then one day I saw a gal in MTC rocking a coral lip color and bang I was obsessed with this. I literally ran to H & G to get it.I was so afraid that the shade would be OOS!

It looks a warm bright coral orange in the tube but on my lips it settles into a coral pink shade with lil hint of orange and a good dose of juicy glossiness. The shimmers are hardly visible (if there r any) in this particular shade but impart a sheen that does not look OTT.I can easily wear this gloss to office.

The applicator is doe foot type and is convenient to apply the gloss but the gloss itself has a goopy thick texture which makes for uneven application. So as Deeps of Divassence suggests use ur fingers to spread the gloss for better application and lasting power ;)

The gloss is not very sticky that ur hair strands tend to stick on ur lips.

It has a good pigmentation not usual with most of the glosses as u can see from the swatches. The swatch consists of a single swipe only.If u have pigmented lips the color would still show up :)

IMO this gloss would lovely on fair to wheatish skin.Dark skin ladies can check out Aubergine which is a gorgeous berry shade.

Does not have a prominent fragrance.

Feels balmy and moisturising on the lips. I do not require a lip balm even.

Being a gloss it is prone to bleeding under humid conditions.

Stays for 2 hours on my lips.I personally do not expect more from glosses. Colorbar true glosses belong to a different race ;)

VERDICT:

I love the subtle coral sheen it gives my lips. Revlon I apologize for ignoring ur colorburst range of glosses and promise they will receive better love!
Am I obsessed with revlon?? Oh yea baby!!

P.S : I am loving how the gloss is adding color to my blog :D :P Do u like it??

Lipstick Love : Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Rose Review and Swatches!

Like I always mention I keep the best things to the last ;)

So I am reviewing the third (hopefully not the last) lipstick that I own from the Revlon Colorburst range :) U can read the reviews of the other 2 lipsticks here and here. I am not gonna talk about the packaging.

  • Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Soft Rose is the prettiest lipstick shade that I have come across! It is beautiful blend of pink and red that will look reddish pink on ur pretty lips ;)
  • The texture is creamy and u need to exfoliate ur lips before application.Glides like butter on the lips.

  • Pigementation is okayish. If u have pigemented lips u will need 2 to 3 swipes.
  • The finish is semi matte.
  • Does not settle into fine lines.

Under direct sunlight

  • The lipstick is neither moisturizing nor drying despite being creamy in texture. I definitely need a lip balm underneath.
  • The lasting power is low.Stayed on for only 2 hrs after which it vanished without a trace :(
  • The price point is a major con. Rs.620/- for 3.7 g.
  • This shade will look lovely on fair/medium skin :)

VERDICT:

It is such a gorgeous shade! I think 2013 is going to lucky for me in terms of makeup ;) Soft rose paired Inglot Coral pink blush (32) can brighten anyone's day :)

Lipstick Love: Revlon Colorburst Lipstick In Rosy Nude Review and swatches!

I am in a Lipstick frenzy these days! I do like Colorful makeup but let's say it is hard to wear in the place I live ;) So I stick to neutrals :)

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick In Rosy Nude is one such versatile shade that would make you look polished under most occasions :)

The Colorburst range from Revlon is nothing unfamiliar :) Moving on to the review :)

  • The packaging is sleek with a checkered pattern on the lipstick case :)
  • The price is Rs. 610/- for 3.7 g.Definitely on the higher side.It used to sell for 550 bucks when I purchased the (in)famous Peach in 2011.
  • The shade Rosy Nude (065) is a warm Pinkish Brown shade. It looks MLBB on my lips.

  • The shade is lighter and has more brown in it compared to the Lakme Rose Kissed Lipstick. The latter I feel would be more apt for the fair and medium skin color while the Rosy Nude would suit a wider range of skin colors :)
  • The texture is buttery soft.Glides smoothly even on chapped lips. But since it is creamy more than a swipe will accentuate the dry flakes.

  • The finish is between creamy-glossy.
  • The Pigmentation I would rate 4.5 out of 5. Well pigmented and 2 swipes would be enough to cover all discolorations.
  • The lipstick is neither moisturizing nor drying.
  • Even after being so creamy it does not bleed.
  • The staying power is low.Lasts for only 2 hours on my lips.
  • Does not leave behind any tint.It vanishes from the lips *poof*
VERDICT:
It may seem like a lot of cons but the color is a must have :) It has the quality of making you look sophisticated.Neutrals like this can be worn anywhere and with most looks :) One of the best neutral shades in the market :) I reckon u grab this before they *discontinue* it ahem ahem! Revlon is becoming my favorite Lipstick brand ;)

My Favorite Everyday Wear Lipsticks!

I am sharing some lipsticks that I personally like for everyday wear.Theses lipsticks I feel will be perfect for office and college wear :) Consider these as must have shades for the warm Indian skin tones :)

Not all of them are pink. The shades are pinks/peachy pink/peachy brown/pinky browns :)

Swatch Timeeeeeee!! :D

The lipsticks:
  1. Amway Attitude Natural Brown : A peachy brown shade.I like it and my sister loves it :) So I have ordered a full size lipstick.U can read my review at this link.
  2. Maybelline Colorsensational My Mahogany : A cult shade! Suits a lot of gals :) Pretty peachy brown makes it suitable for Indian skin tones. It is lighter than Natural Brown.Check out my rave here.
  3. Lakme Lip Love in Rose Kissed : Classic pink with slight brown undertones that could be deepened with another swipe. This is the one shade I could wear anywhere.Check out full details here.
  4. Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Rosy Nude: Peach-pink-brown combination. It is a lighter and has more brown in it than Lakme Rose Kissed.
  5. Revlon Colorburst in Soft Rose : Soft pink with red undertones. My favorite shade from the  colorburst range :)
  6. Lakme Aquashine Lip Color in Old Rose: Rosy pink shade. It will look beautiful on fair skintones but won't show up on pigmented lips :(
  7. Streetwear lipstick In Pink Pie: Pink with peach undertones.Extremely wearable and cheap :) Full review here.
  8. Colorbar Lipstick in Nectar : This has been discontinued but it is another lovely pink that will suit fair skin :) U might wanna check out the review in case here.

Lipstick Love : Revlon Colorburst In Peach Review!!

Am obsessed with Peaches and Oranges these days:D And I wanted to try out the Colorburst range from Revlon!

It comes in a classic black packaging with Revlon printed across the center! The lipstick as u can c also contains an engraving of REVLON!!I find it pretty chic :D

It is a medium peach shade that is devoid of pink or brown undertones!Totally peachish :D
The only drawback is that it is sheer and u need to swipe it thrice (for me) to get the actual color on my lips!
This lipstick is worth d money(580/-) and I am thinking of Soft rose and Blush :D Is more suited for fair complexions.
Its creamier than Lakme lip love and doesn't require a lipbalm underneath! And definitely doesn't emphasize fine lines :)

It works great when paired with soft pink blushes ;) or if u want to go all peach then I recommend the Faces Burnt Sienna blush !
