Maybelline High Shine gloss in Captivating Coral Review and swatches!

Yes another gloss for those of u looking to flaunt the summer makeup trend ;)

"The one that has sheen and will make u preen
It is the gloss in tangerine "

The Maybelline High shine gloss comes in a transparent tube with nothing printed on it. Nope.Zilch and that makes it boring. They are priced at 350 bucks a piece.
But on the flip side it helps in easier identification of yours truly ;)

U can check out the gloss shades at  http://maybelline.co.in/products/lips/lip_gloss/color_sensational.html

The tube has a bent applicator that helps in better placement of the gloss especially in the corners.
The shade number and name is mentioned at the end of the tube.
The tube is not heavy *hello Lotus Pure Stay* and definitely travel friendly if u do not mind scratches on the tube of course!
Who named thou Coral?? Cuz u r Tangerine! Pure warm tangerine with no hints of pink!
If u someone scared of oranges as I am scared of ghosts then U can take ur baby steps into the big bad world of orange with this gloss. U do have the option of Revlon Tutti fruiti but it is damn expensive for a lip balm!

The gloss has a creamy texture and absolutely non sticky. Great for dry lips. But the texture makes it lil uneven on the lips.I would suggest applying small amount with the wand and even-ing it out with ur fingers.
And the good news for office/college makeup junkies is that it is devoid of shimmers which makes it apt for daily wear :)
The gloss is hydrating as long as it stays on the lips and gives an illusion of plump lips :)
Most importantly it does not weigh down the lips.

Pigmentation is sheer. it is buildable but has serious limitations. It will not hide major discolorations.
The staying power was where it lost its star.It hardly stayed for more than 1.5 hours and with food it completely disappears.

U can pair the gloss with a peach blush like MUA blusher in 4/5 or Faces burnt Sienna and brown rimmed eyes :)

VERDICT :

I am liking the gloss for its light weight and creamy texture. U got a lot of pretty shades to choose from. I might pick up gleaming grenadine next :)
Would rate it 4.3 out of 5 ( -0.7 cuz I find it annoying to do touch ups so often hmph!)

Disclaimer: Product sent by brand for Consideration. But my opinion is honest I swear to God ;)

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Papaya Review and Swatches!

Smack ur lips and say "papaya" to beget juicy summer lips!

Picture urself wearing cute skirts and stepping out in trendy wedges!Zoom in to ur face. Nothing but tinted moisturizer. And a hint of coral glossiness on ur lips that just lightens up ur face ;)

Revlon papaya is the answer to ur prayers for subtle yet pretty coral lips.

It comes in a long tube.Almost double in size to that of the maybelline watershines.Has the trademark checkered pattern over its cap and a transparent body that helps u to identify the color of the gloss instantly.

Pretty expensive for a lip gloss but u get a huge quantity of 5.9 ml for 500 bucks.

This gloss was a superhit with bloggers across the nation but I was not enamored by the color. Then one day I saw a gal in MTC rocking a coral lip color and bang I was obsessed with this. I literally ran to H & G to get it.I was so afraid that the shade would be OOS!

It looks a warm bright coral orange in the tube but on my lips it settles into a coral pink shade with lil hint of orange and a good dose of juicy glossiness. The shimmers are hardly visible (if there r any) in this particular shade but impart a sheen that does not look OTT.I can easily wear this gloss to office.

The applicator is doe foot type and is convenient to apply the gloss but the gloss itself has a goopy thick texture which makes for uneven application. So as Deeps of Divassence suggests use ur fingers to spread the gloss for better application and lasting power ;)

The gloss is not very sticky that ur hair strands tend to stick on ur lips.

It has a good pigmentation not usual with most of the glosses as u can see from the swatches. The swatch consists of a single swipe only.If u have pigmented lips the color would still show up :)

IMO this gloss would lovely on fair to wheatish skin.Dark skin ladies can check out Aubergine which is a gorgeous berry shade.

Does not have a prominent fragrance.

Feels balmy and moisturising on the lips. I do not require a lip balm even.

Being a gloss it is prone to bleeding under humid conditions.

Stays for 2 hours on my lips.I personally do not expect more from glosses. Colorbar true glosses belong to a different race ;)

VERDICT:

I love the subtle coral sheen it gives my lips. Revlon I apologize for ignoring ur colorburst range of glosses and promise they will receive better love!
Am I obsessed with revlon?? Oh yea baby!!

P.S : I am loving how the gloss is adding color to my blog :D :P Do u like it??

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm Stain in Rendezvous Review and Swatches!

I have this friend lets call her T cuz tat's her profession ;) She is crazy about Orange in Makeup! Has an enviable collection of blushers and lipsticks in shades of orange ( mayb eyeliners too! ). And whenever we talk about makeup *which is more than often* I start craving for orange. So the good news?? Her Orange obsession has totally rubbed on me and u will see Orange Love on the blog ;) Bad news?? My wallet is giving me a cold stare!

Revlon has launched 10 shades in the Just bitten Kissable balm stain range. All the shades are just gorgeous!

I got the shade Rendezvous along with the Sweetheart Valentine. U can read my review here :
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart Valentine Review and Swatches!

  • These look like cute chubby crayons with a twist able mechanism.
  • Priced at 600/- bucks.Pretty expensive but I needed these for office wear!
  • The shade is warm orange but looks coral  on me. Weird! But this color is totally wearable. If u r sum1 afraid of orange lipsticks u can give this a whirl :)

  • It has a minty fragrance and feels cool on the lips on application which disappears within a min or so.
  • Has a balmy texture and does not pull or tag over the lips.
  • U need well exfoliated and moisturized lips to ensure the stain does not settle into fine lines.
  • The balm like feel vanishes after half an hr or so.Lips did not feel dry for 4 hrs and the emphasis on dry flakes/peels was evident only towards the end of the day.

  •  Pigmentation is sheer but due to being light weight u can build up the intensity :)
  • Bleeding does not occur.
  • Staying power is 5-6 hours on my lips. It does fade a little after meals on the inner part but it does not look patchy :)

VERDICT :
I am liking these so much that I could hug them if that was possible. But Revlon and their pricing keep me baffled. U ought to check out this range if u r on the lookout for long wear lip colors that don't make people go " Ahh So u r wearing a lipstick! Is it healthy to wear one??"  U can get a pink stain and fool people into thinking u got natural pink pout  :D

P.S. : T beware! I am gonna raid ur home soon :)

Lipstick Love : Inglot Lipstick Refill no. 37 Review and Swatches!

Colorbar Obsessed Orange hates me!And I can't even hate it back.It is always out of stock when I go shopping :\

Anyways, I am experiencing a brand crush over Inglot ;) After the blushes it is time for their lipstick refills and am loving them :)

  • Inglot offers Freedom System on their lipsticks, eyeshadows, brow powders, concealers, blushers and what not! U can try a plethora of shades without going bankrupt.
  • Customized palettes are always a treat and when the quality offered is awesome u r bound to fall in love with the brand ;)

  • The lipstick refill is packed inside a round metal pan placed inside a plastic case.U need a palette if you are going to travel with the refills.Inglot stores make it mandatory to own a palette if u r going to buy refills from them.I prefer ordering them online for majorbrands.in

  • Each lipstick refill costs you Rs.250/- which is pricey for a 1.2 g product but most of us never come close to finishing a full tube of lipstick ;) I prefer these high quality less quantity refills.
  • U need a lip brush to apply the color.Or u can make do with fingers.I like my Vega Lip Filler Brush :)
  • Inglot Y u no not name ur pretty lipsticks/blushes/eyeshadows?? But It would be difficult to name so many shades. Some even overlap!
  • This particular shade is a bright orange with red undertones.Just the perfect burst of orange warm skin tones need :)
  • Glides on smoothly.

  • Does not settle into fine lines.
  • Pigementation is high.U need a tiny amount to cover all those *nasty* discolorations :)
  • The finish is glossy which settles after half an hour or so to semi matte on my lips.
  • Does not dry out lips but I still need a lip balm underneath.
  • It transfers but most lipsticks do except some of the mattes.
  • Lasts for 5-6 hours on my lips! And after that leaves behind a subtle orange stain :)
  • FYI, the finish of the lipstick depends on the shade.
