8 Brightening lipsticks for Fair-Medium skin

This post is for girls out there who wear lipsticks that totally clashes with their fair/medium skin color. Even desi brands like Lakme have mostly browns and maroons in their enrich satin collection :/ There are fair gals who carry brown lipsticks pretty well but I am not one of those lucky ones. Brown makes me look haggard and sick :( If u are like me then no issues I am here to help u out :)

Personally I love Coral Pinks! They work like a charm any day :)

So here goes the list!

In the same order :

• Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain in Sweetheart : I use a single swipe for a sheer wash of fuchsia for looking fresh.
• Colorbar Creme Touch lipstick in Candy Rose : This one will suit dusky skin too :) A blue toned rose for instant perk up.
• Maybelline High Shine lipstick in Fruit Punch : Another yummy fuchsia that can add zing to ur face :)
• Colorbar Creme Touch lipstick in Tangerino : A warm orange. This and sunglasses for the chic look ;)
• Lotus Pure Colors lipstick in Carnation : Reddish coral designed to blow away ur monday blues. Glides on like a cream lipstick but sets to a matte finish which is not drying for a change.
• Maybelline Moisture Extreme lipstick in Coral Pink : The best lipstick shade from my stash! It is a dupe of MAC Crosswires and very bright. I apply it using fingers for a pretty tin.
• Inglot 73 : A coral peach in the pan that looks coral pink on me. This is not as bright as the maybelline one but still bright. 
• Lotus Pure Stay Lipgloss in Pink Hypnotic : Reddish pink under bright lights and coral pink under natural light, this is one gloss I would repurchase forever along with Revlon Papaya :)

Apart from the ones in the swatches I would also recommend :

• MAC Lustre lipstick in See Sheer : A delectable coral peach that is a must have.
• Revlon Colorburst lipgloss in Papaya : Coral gloss that comes out stunning on warm Indian skin :)
• Maybelline High Shine gloss in One Shine Day : A wearable coral pink gloss that looks great and not too bright.
• Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Temptress : Blue based medium pink that not only looks natural on my lips but also imparts a punch of morning freshness if u get what I mean ;)
• Avon Simply Pretty lipstick in Coral Pink : This may wash out dusky skin but on fair skin it comes out really well.

Maybelline Colorsensational High Shine Lipstick in Fruit Punch Review with Swatches!

Remember I had promised to deliver the review this lipstick before disappearing into the hidey hole?? So I thot of starting back on the reviews with the promised one :) 

• The lipstick is housed in a silver mirror like tube that is prone to scratches but u can use the tube for touch ups :)
• It is priced at Rs. 399/-
• The high shine range has 2 more shades: Coral Luster and Lacquered Brown

• The shade Fruit Punch is a warm but bright fuchsia with obvious silver shimmers. The color is so vibrant !
• Shimmers make the finish glossy initially but does tend to settle in the outer corners of the lips.
• The lipstick sets to a semi matte finish after 20 mins or so.

• The lipstick is softer and glides better than its predecessors :) Does not dry out my lips but does not moisturize either.
• Pigmentation is medium.Single swipe gives a light wash of the pretty color while another gives an intense bright look.
• The shade might look neon on dark skin so swatch before purchasing at the stores.

• Stays on for about 2 hours over my lips after which it leaves an innocent pink stain. But the shimmers stay back sometimes which can be wiped off easily.

 

VERDICT :

One of the awesome bright shades that can fetch u oodles of compliments :) I prefer wearing it sheer and love how it perks up my face.

Lipstick Love : Colorbar True Gloss In Vintage Rose Review and Swatches!

There are times when you just want to throw out ur n*de lipsticks and fill ur case with only brights! U suddenly feel confident and order neon shades that u have never given a glance before.Then after trying them on u cower " I can't even wear this at home!" .Even if that's not ur story it surely is mine ;) But I have resolved to wear brights this year. They are instant perk ups and bring life to face without requiring any other makeup.Not even Kajal.All you need is a bright shade that doesn't look gaudy on you and some confidence to shrug off the glances/stares !

I do own fuchsias but I really craved neon at the end of last year so I got this along with 2 Inglot brights :P

• Colorbar True gloss is priced at Rs.495 a tube. U can get it at a lower rate at medplusbeauty.
• The packaging consists of a cylindrical tube which looks and feels sophisticated.

• The applicator is similar to that of the Maybelline Colorsensational glosses.Spongy and easy to apply even in the lip corners.

• The color is a bright neony hot pink!It looks stunning both on the tube and the lips.

• The texture is smooth.Glides like honey but exfoliate ur lips before application as it tends to accentuate the flaky areas.

•  It settles into a glossy finish and is moisturizing.I did not require a lip balm underneath.
• Has the same weird smell of  the Colorbar Velvet Matte lipsticks :(

True shade!

•  The pigmentation is a shot through sky! Extremely pigmented, these are liquid lipsticks functioning as undercover glosses ;)

• U need to be very prudent while applying these.U can easily go overboard. So I would suggest applying little and rubbing ur lips together and repeating till u get the desired coverage/shade.
• Does not bleed.That is such a relief with colors like these.

In case u don't prefer glossy finish for colors as bright as this u can always go for a matte finish.A shade that is relatively closer to this shade in my vanity is the Colorbar velvet matte lipstick in Oh my Magenta :) It is little toned down and will suit dusky and dark skin too :)

 

 U can also tone the color down by applying the gloss as a stain using ur fingers ;) Works great with all bright shades :)

VERDICT:

This is more of a fair-medium skin kind of shade.I am loving this color and finish.Eyeing the Pink Stain gloss next ;) Wish Colorbar brings n*dish and toned down shades into the range!
