Skincare: Vedic Line Sunscreen Gel Review!

Sunscreen is a very critical step in your skincare routine provided u have one ;)

It helps prevent pigmentation,sun spots,tanning and slows down aging.Most importantly, it reduces the risk of skin cancer :)

• The Sunscreen gel comes in an orangish yellow tub.The cap screws shut tightly :) Travel friendly but not hygienic.
• The sunscreen as mentioned is a creme gel.Sinks in instantly like a gel and is moisturizing like a cream :) The moisturization is obviously not as good as a proper moisturizer.

• I have never used a sunscreen that does not sweat under the hot humid Chennai Sun.And boy was I glad that this gel did not let me down :) It does not stain/melt off/make me sweat!
• Does not give a whitish cast.
• Gives a cooling sensation on application that lasts a few seconds.
• Since it gets absorbed I am not sure about it being waterproof.
• I can easily give this 5 out of 5 for the above pros but wait there is more!
• It is PARABEN FREE! and has natural ingredients.

• Neutrogena costs 150 bucks for 30 ml while u get 65 ml for 210/-with this.
• But the SPF is only 30. I just wish they had provided higher SPF like our Neutrogena that provides 50 + SPF :\

VERDICT:

This is one sunscreen that both dry and oily skin can easily take a liking to :) I think I will repurchase this for the coming summers (I am already dreading those months! )

I am all for getting tanned but the numerous articles on Skin damage make me lil less lazy to use sunscreen..I am still lazy nevertheless ;)

I am going to give a once over about the sunscreens that spoil adore my skincare box :)

Sunscreens always make me think of sweat, white patches and heavy feeling on the skin :|

1 .Lotus sunscreen with SPF 20:

This is a thick sunscreen but not greasy as expected!U get a large quantity and it lasts looooong.I use it when I need to go out for short periods..It is white and has a mild lotus fragrance that lingers and is pleasant :) It prevents tanning even under direct sun exposure..Tried and tested ;) The cons are the low spf and the very oily face :(

Price and Quantity: 185 for 120 g

2. PhotoBan Sunscreen with SPF 30:

It is a medicated sunscreen prescribed to me by Skincare doc (I forgot wat we call them :| ) I suffered severe allergy to sun and got pimples and scars all over my face :O It is liquidy type and is pure white and spreads easily..one con that is common to most sunscreens.

It is oily :( When I use this I skip my moisturiser! It is totally odourless. And Suits sensitive skin the best :)

Price and Quantity: 200 for 60 ml

3. Attitude Sunscreen with SPF 15:

One thing that strikes me first abt this is that it makes my face the most oily :( And has the lowest spf compared to my other sunscreens. But it has Mango Seed butter, Coconut water and Rosemary :) Also it comes in a pump bottle so is strictly hygienic and is the Best Smelling sunscreen :D A dab of powder sets it and am good to go :) U need only very little of this.

Price and Quantity: 350 for 150 ml

4. Neutrogena Ultra dry Touch Sunblock with SPF 50+:

The show stealer ;) It is essentially a sunblock which is powerful than a sunscreen.

It has SPF 50 which is great for a full day out without reapplication.I wouldn’t call it ultra dry or even dry thou..it makes me skin oily but not as much as others. And it is sweat proof and water proof ;) It is a little difficult to blend..I need to apply Olay underneath for smooth application. It does not end up being patchy or powdery if u sweat a lot !It is non comedogenic which means it won’t clog pores ;) I think it is one of the best drugstore options available in India!

5. VLCC Sweat free sunblock lotion with SPF 40:

I just got this free with my copy of Femina :)

It is labelled as sweat free sun defense: No sweat,refreshinf formula.

The smell reminds me of ginger and some flower..Cant nail it. But it is damn good! The lotion is a creamy colour.

I really wanted to try it cuz of the “sweat free” claims. First thing I noticed as soon I applied is how shiny it makes my face :@ U can use it as a heavy cream highlighter ;) I dabbed sum powder and headed out. And contrary to the claim it did definitely make my face sweat :( I would have given a thumbs up to this sunscreen even it gave a matte finish :( But it does go smooth on my face.

MY SUMMER SKINCARE ROUTINE :) :)

    I gt varied interests out of which SKINCARE s very close to my heart :)now since this is unofficially moi first post i would like to post abt moi summer skincare :) :) In Chennai it is already Summer tym :( :O the climate here is damn HOT and HUMID :( and ofcurse very SWEATY :X grr..It is irritating that the minute u step out of home   all ur hardwork at lukin gud gets wasted :O So i prefer to keep it to the minimal..K enough of my babble lets move to the original topic :)

I hope u guys know the 3 steps for facial care :
CLEANSING
MOISTURIZING
TONING

Following are the products that I use:

                                   

CLEANSING:

For cleansing i use:

*LOTUS jojoba oil facewash-I use it in the morning as it is very moisturizing !!

*LAKME citrus rain facewash-use it in the evening also i tend to get bored wit my things fast so for a change :P

SCRUBBING:

*CLEAN AND CLEAR blackhead clearing scrub-substitute it for face wash mostly..cant say much abt its scrubbing properties 

*EVERYUTH mild everyday scrub-this is my HOLY GRAIL scrub use it every single day :)

MOISTURIZING:

*LOTUS aloe vera gel-takes secs to get absorbed and light on the skin :)

*OLAY natural white-love its smell and is very moisturizing 

TONING:

*HIMALAYA cucumber toner-I like this..does not dry out my skin :)

FACE MASK:

*LOTUS clay mask-gives a lift to ur skin 

*ATTITUDE face masque-moisturizing and recommended for all skin types in summer 

I suffer from unrelenting DARK CIRCLES as a result of continuous usage of computer.Hence i use the following to reduce them..they work well and have helped in considerably reducing my dark circles :) :)

*AROMA MAGIC under eye gel

*AROMA MAGIC almond eye cream

I use AM gel for the mornings when i dont have tym and this gel gets absorbed fast :D and at night i slather on the cream and it feels luxurious to me :P

SUNSCREEN:

Sunscreen is very important not bcuz i reduces the amt of tan but bcuz it saves us from the harmful UV rays of the sun.So i recommend every1 of u to go and get a sunscreen and USE it too :)

DEO:

Deo is very essential atleast during the summers since we tend to sweat out a lot :O :( So plz do invest in a bodyspray wit a fairly gud staying power so tat u dont smell like pigs :P I use NIVEA pearl and beauty deo or  DOVE bodyspray(yellow) Lemonrass and Grapefuit flavour :)I prefer the latter as it is more refreshing compared to Nivea.

Last but nt the least...Just a single swipe of lip balm (Tinted!) will brighten up ur whole face :)I use MAYBELLINE lip smooth and care in Dolly Rose :)I love the tint :)
