Colorbar Creme Touch lipstick in Tangerino Review and Swatches!

I had been craving cream lipsticks when I remembered I had not tried any from the Colorbar Creme Touch range which is supposed to creamier than their soft touch range. I was not exactly blown by their velvet matte range as the lipsticks were not dry lips friendly but the Creme Touch range makes up for it :) Creamy lipsticks that melt over the lips in eclectic shades to provide a luscious finish ?? I am game!!

  • The Colorbar Creme touch lipsticks comes in a classy silver tube with a lavender ring in the center. I like the mirror like packaging except it is susceptible to finger prints. Also if u own multiple shades it becomes difficult to identify.
  • Being priced at Rs.400/- it is definitely not a budget lipstick.
  • The shade Tangerino is a warm orange shade. While Obsessed Orange from the velvet matte range is yellow based orange and Inglot 37 is a red based orange, Tangerino is a warmer, brighter version of Obsessed orange and will not wash out any skin color.

  • This is a shade that is better suited to beach than the office :) If u wanna try the orange lips sported by Kareena, Tangerino is a great option!

  • Glides like butter over lips.Has an extremely creamy texture and dry lips would love love love this!
  • Due to its immense creamy texture it tends to bleed even under mildly humid conditions.

  • Does not settle into my fine lines thou I do not have too many.
  • Has the typical agarbatti smell of the Colorbar lip products :( I am not into it.Not at all.
  • The finish is glossy for an hr after which it settles into a creamy matte finish. Not drying at all.But I do swipe my balm after it sets.
  • The staying power is 3.5-4 hours without food. Leaves being an orangish tint after food. The other shade Candy rose vanishes after food.

VERDICT :

I know it is the time of monsoons but who cares ;) Orange lipstick can brighten up any season and this lipstick is a must have if u r in dire need of a warm creamy orange shade :)

Colorbar Creme touch Lipstick In Candy Rose Review and Swatches!

U never know which things will work for you or not until u actually experiment! Like I always hated cheese cuz it reminded me of butter (which I makes me puke) but once I was forced to have a cheese sandwich and I was hooked! I can polish off a cheese cube in minutes albeit if not on a stupid *healthy* diet ;) And cheese garlic bread makes me go weak in the knees :P Ahem ahem getting back to the point I had been scared of blue based lipsticks. But that was before I tried MAC Mehr at the outlet. While swatching the Colorbar Creme Touch lipsticks, I liked Dreamy pink the most which is a coral pink shade. But I went with Candy Rose since I somehow felt the dirty rose shade would suit me :)

  • The shade Candy Rose is a dirty blue based rose. Blue based lipsticks generally tend to suck the life out of my face but this one gives a much needed pop  of color :)
  • It will suit both warm and cool toned skin as weel as a range of skin colors from fair to dark :)

8 Brightening lipsticks for Fair-Medium skin

This post is for girls out there who wear lipsticks that totally clashes with their fair/medium skin color. Even desi brands like Lakme have mostly browns and maroons in their enrich satin collection :/ There are fair gals who carry brown lipsticks pretty well but I am not one of those lucky ones. Brown makes me look haggard and sick :( If u are like me then no issues I am here to help u out :)

Personally I love Coral Pinks! They work like a charm any day :)

So here goes the list!

In the same order :

Apart from the ones in the swatches I would also recommend :
  • MAC Lustre lipstick in See Sheer : A delectable coral peach that is a must have.
  • Revlon Colorburst lipgloss in Papaya : Coral gloss that comes out stunning on warm Indian skin :)
  • Maybelline High Shine gloss in One Shine Day : A wearable coral pink gloss that looks great and not too bright.
  • Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Temptress : Blue based medium pink that not only looks natural on my lips but also imparts a punch of morning freshness if u get what I mean ;)
  • Avon Simply Pretty lipstick in Coral Pink : This may wash out dusky skin but on fair skin it comes out really well.
The post was helpful to u guys hopefully :) I would come up with lipstick recommendations for dusky/dark skin too ;)

My TheBodyShop Haul!

I had grabbed a body butter and body mist from TBS summer sale :) Since it was raining continuously that day I was unable to take snaps!

I bought the Chocomania  body butter and Madagscan Vanilla Flower Body Mist (think it is from the Scents of the World colletion)
I got 50% off on the body butter and 30% off on the body mist!!

Colorbar Lip pot in Cherry Pop Review and Swatches!

I never understood the hype around Lakme Lip Love conditioners and then came the lip pots from Colorbar. I did not spare a glance to the small pots that sat daintily over the Colorbar counters. But when I tried it on it was purely a *Oh shit y did I ignore u for so long* moment! And after the face palm moment I got the Lakme Lip conditioner too ;) Guess which one I got :D

  • Comes in a cute little pot but am not someone who goes aww at cute little things unless it is a puppy :)

  • U need a lip brush to apply or use ur sanitized fingers.
  • The lip pot does not contain lip gloss. Definitely not.It is more of a glossy lip cream.
  • The lip cream has a thick, non sticky texture.
  • The color is a deep red the one we use to colour hearts ;) Devoid of any maroon tinge.

  • The pigmentation is great! A single dip provides a full coverage. So I suggest sheering it after application for more of an everyday look :)
  • Provides a glossy finish. The glossiness vanishes after 0.5 hr or so.But it does not set to matte/demi matte finish.

  • The one thing that impressed me the most was the hydration that it generously imparts.I did not need a lip balm underneath and the lip cream provided a cushiony feel to the lips. Very hydrating and did not dry out my lips even after pulling up the vanishing act.Even the Lakme Lip Love or Colorbar creme touch lipsticks did not impress me to this degree :)

Left is sheered out version while the right is the full intense single swipe
  •  Stays on for about 4 hrs if applied in full glory. And stays for about 2 hrs on sheer application.

VERDICT :

Grab at least one of the lip pots to experience how moisturizing these are! Must have in my opinion!

P.S : I am not taking responsibility if u have drooled and ruined ur laptop by looking at the shade ;)

Yummy Banana Chocolate DIY Mask Recipe!

I have been slacking on skincare for sometime now. Before u guys jump out and accuse me of negligence. No I have been religiously slathering on sunscreen(I am gng to finish up my current bottle!) and moisturizing with utmost care. But the weekend pampering were on a full stop.So 2 weeks back I was in the mood for some chocolate *dairy milk silk* but I knew I would feel too guilty afterwards. And that is when I decided o whip up a choco banana mask :)

It makes my skin super soft and fresh looking :)

U would need :

  • A bar of chocolate duh! I used dairy milk but dark chocolates are better ;)
  • One ripe banana (small)
  • Honey
  • Curd
  • Lemon juice
  • Almond oil/Olive oil
  • Coffee powder - For the delicious smell :P It offers scrubbing properties and has caffeine that helps cellulite on the skin to maintain the youthful skin. Plus it is another thing that I miss cuz of my diet boohoo :'(
  • Rose oil - A staple of mine for all my face packs :)
Mix all of them together till u get a semi liquid consistency and apply all over face and neck :)
Guilt free pampering if u r on diet like me :P

Maybelline Colorsensational High Shine Lipstick in Fruit Punch Review with Swatches!

Remember I had promised to deliver the review this lipstick before disappearing into the hidey hole?? So I thot of starting back on the reviews with the promised one :)

  • The lipstick is housed in a silver mirror like tube that is prone to scratches but u can use the tube for touch ups :)
  • It is priced at Rs. 399/-
  • The high shine range has 2 more shades: Coral Luster and Lacquered Brown

  • The shade Fruit Punch is a warm but bright fuchsia with obvious silver shimmers. The color is so vibrant !
  • Shimmers make the finish glossy initially but does tend to settle in the outer corners of the lips.
  • The lipstick sets to a semi matte finish after 20 mins or so.

  • The lipstick is softer and glides better than its predecessors :) Does not dry out my lips but does not moisturize either.
  • Pigmentation is medium.Single swipe gives a light wash of the pretty color while another gives an intense bright look.
  • The shade might look neon on dark skin so swatch before purchasing at the stores.

  • Stays on for about 2 hours over my lips after which it leaves an innocent pink stain. But the shimmers stay back sometimes which can be wiped off easily.

VERDICT :

One of the awesome bright shades that can fetch u oodles of compliments :) I prefer wearing it sheer and love how it perks up my face.

Currently Loving! July edition!

Though I literally disappeared from the beauty blogging scene for sometime now I have been using makeup as a ritual to office everyday :) It does not matter that most of it vanishes before I set foot into my office ;)

So what am I liking a lot these days??

Go on have a look at the shots :

Color Color which Color do u choose from the blush palette?? I would so love to use all these shades at the same time but oh well I am not auditioning for clown fiesta :D

I can call R6 the safest color of the lot that stains the cheeks a rosy pink shade that looks Au natural :)

Also loving the Colorbar Lip pot in Cherry Pop and Avon Fresh Rose lipstick from the Simply Pretty range :) The cherry pop gives a lovely tint on sheer application and Fresh Rose is a young shade of sorts. Gives enough brightness to wake u up but not to the level where u get stared at in a berating way. The Biotique bio color lipstick in Bamboo is a pretty coral pink shade that a coral loving gal like me has got to own :)

I have been taking the Nutrilite supplement from Amway for over a month now and the results are clearly visible on my skin :) Skin looks brighter!

Like the Lakme eyeconic kajal but I so wanna try the Absolute kohl :) I also got this eye groomer brush from H & G and love how my lashes look defined and fluttery with a single swipe of the lash comb! Hats off to Wayne Goss for the tip ;)
