Must have blushes for Indian Skin!

Chaliya Chaliya ..Don't look at me like that boy! That song is strangely addictive u know!

If u r one of the beauty junkies who owns several lipsticks and blushes but still hit Google baba looking for the must have makeup products for Indian skin then give me a high five :D I had wanted to post such a compilation for long but never had the time.

The blushes would suit both fair and dusky skin :)

  • Rosy Pink  : Inglot 27 is said to be the dupe of MAC desert rose. It has a satin finish and does not look like a patch of pink on the cheeks. Rather it gives a well rested look. Priced at rs.350/- for refill and 720/- for a pot.

  • Neutral Pink : Every girl needs a neutral pink blush that she can blindly reach out in case of confusion ;) NYX Tea Rose is one such beige pink blush that gives a dewy fiinsh. Oily skin may not like the finish. Priced at Rs. 650/- in India.

  • Coral : We Indians tend to underestimate the power of corals and stick to browns and pinks. But coral is an excellent choice we need to explore more often. Lakme Day Blushes is a stunning coral peach pink blush with a satin finish and has tiny shimmers that make the skin glow. Absolute must have. I have a backup of this ;) Retails for Rs.550/- and worth the moolah!

  • Medium Peach : I have not seen a peach blush that is prettier than Faces Burnt Sienna. Sadly it is discontinued and mine is all broken. It has a hint of orange that makes it warm and wearable.

  • Shimmery Peach : U know all the hype around bronzers at International beauty cafes! But IMO bronzers do not suit me. Bronzers look muddy or orangy to me. So I suggest switching to a shimmery peach blush :) MUA no.5 is cheap apart from being a delightful combination of peach and gold! Got it for half pound at 50% off

  • Medium Pink: One swipe of the Maybelline Soft plum blush and u would fall in love with blushes ;) That is how it happened with me. If u r not a mousse blush person u can try Bourjois Rose Frisson blush which is the same shade but in baked powder form. Soft plum costed me Rs.200/- but is discontinued now and Rose frisson is priced at Rs.500 I think.

Apart from these it would be great to own :
  • Red : yes! Red blush :P They look pretty too :) Youth red from Kryolan is a good option for a matte red blush at Rs. 350/-

  • Brown : brown?? Why the ?? For contouring purposes! U never know when the occasion would demand for a slimmer facade ;) Again priced at Rs.350/- Kryolan Mocha blush comes to the rescue. Or get a matte bronzer!
From L-R : Maybelline Soft Plum,Inglot 27,Faces Burnt Sienna,MUA no.5,Lakme Day Blushes,NYX Tea Rose,Kryolan Youth Red,Kryolan Mocha

P.S: If u r wondering y it is always 8 in my compilation posts 8 is my lucky number ;)

Get Cheeky Giveaway : Entry 11 by Deepika!

Another entry by Deepika!

What did she send this time ??

Coral is one color that will never go out of fashion. Nigella Lawson flaunts coral on her cheeks with such ease! Just gives her the perfect glow!! Her love for orange, coral and red blushers is so evident in all her pictures!!

So here is a blush, very close to my heart, not only because of the color but because of the price too!! I bought the Jordana blush stick in Coral Touch from Cherry culture at $2.99 without much expectation but it turned out to be such a beautiful everyday wear blush and one of my most used blushers!!

The blush is coral in color (for those of you who didn't get it earlier :P)  with a warm pink undertone and has minute gold shimmer which isn't visible when applied. The gold shimmer adds a sheen to the color on the cheeks. I love gold and coral together! Such a fantastic combo!

Editor's Note : Corals and oranges luk wonderful on u yar! No wonder u like Nigella :)

Blush Lust: Lakme Absolute Cheek Chromatic Blusher in Day Blushes Review and Swatches!

Meet my new Boyfriend! Whenever I see him I blush! Not only blush a little glow too ;) And he goes by the name Day Blushes :)

Let me tell you a story : This girl was just stepping into the makeup world.Lakme had released the Earth Trio blush. The girl did not understand why she had to pay 600 bucks for a blush! So she didn't get it though it was being raved everywhere. She had money but no understanding. And by the time she realized its importance the blush was discontinued sob sob!! I so feel bad for the girl!

8 Pretty pink Everyday Wear Blushes

So when the Day blusher was released by Lakme she decided that she would get it by hook or crook! And of course she did. That is why you are reading the review now :P

  • Lakme had introduced 4 shades of blushes under the Absolute Range. All of them have shimmers but the Day Blushes is the least shimmery.
  • The packaging consists of a plastic round box inside which the dome shaped blush is placed. The top part is transparent with a L logo inscribed on it :) Classy I must say.It would also help if u own more than 1 blush from the range :)

  • The blush is a beautiful coral-peach-pink combination.Though I own blushes from all the 3 color families I don't have anything like this!
  • The texture is very soft and hence the fall out is huge.So no swirling with this ;)
  • It is highly pigmented.On a scale of 0-5 I would give it 4.5.

  • Blending is easy.No patches here.
  • The finish is a subtle glow on the cheeks. U can't exactly find out the shimmer unless u are directly under strong light :)
  • Lasting power was about 3 hours on my cheeks. That is average but with a shade so pretty I can easily overlook that!
  • It retails for Rs.550 but u can get it for Rs.522 at medplusbeauty.com.

VERDICT:
I adore this blush from the range.Wish Lakme introduces matte blushes too.I am eyeing the Night Sheen next. It is a gorgeous peachy golden shade :)
