Summer Lip trend Choices!

Most of the makeup trends that we drool over from the Runway are hardly wearable in real life.

But definitely adaptable so that the dogs on our streets do not chase us ;) It all takes a little bit of tapping on the Google baba :)

I was pouring over Grazia and noticed the article on popping lip color trend. And that gave me an idea on doing this post.

I am sharing some lip colors that are perfect for summer but not OTT :) 

Let me start with Fuchsia :

• Maybelline High Shine Lipstick in Fruit Punch : It just stole my heart in the first swipe :) Bright Fuchsia that IS WEARABLE. It is a color that will make u feel pretty instantly. Price : Rs.400/-
• Colorbar True Gloss in Vintage Rose : Not for office wear. Very bright and needs courage to carry off outside home. Price : Rs.495/-
• Colorbar Oh My Magenta : A matte and subdued form of the vintage rose gloss. Price : Rs.250/-

 Tangerine:

• Maybelline High Shine Gloss in Captivating Coral : A warm tangerine gloss. Pigmentation is sheer for those who are not into bold oranges. Price : Rs.350/-
• Revlon Lip butter in Tutti fruiti : A hybrid of vampire and werewolf. Jk! it is a hybrid of lip balm and lipstick. Sheer and very balmy. Price: Rs. 600/-
• Revlon Lip Balm+ Stain in Rendezvous : balmy in texture but sets to matte finish after an hr or so. Medium orange with golden shimmers.Stays put for long. Price : Rs.600/-
• Inglot Lipstick refill in 37 : A popping reddish orange shade. U need helluva guts ;) or just use fingers to sheer it out like I do. Price : Rs.300/ (revised)

Coral :

•  MAC See Sheer Lipstick : I am hooked to this shade. Peachy coral with a glossy finish. Must have for fair warm skin tones. Price : Rs.990/-
• Inglot Lipstick refill in 56 : Another peachy coral with semi matte finish.Deeper than see sheer. Price : Rs.300 (revised).
• Avon mango mania : Technically not a coral but it looks coral on me so anyways. A pinkish coral with orange undertones and sets to a matte finish. Price : Rs.129 (not sure).

P.S. : Avon mango mania used to look brownish orange on me initially. But these days everything takes a pinkish hue on me. So put down ur mosquito bats this instant!

Product Of the Week!! Maybelline Hyper Glossy Eyeliner in Tangerine Orange!

Say Hello to Mr. Tangerine brother of Miss Mandarin and Miss Rendezvous!

He looks sexy and is Orange duh! And if u r afraid that orange eyeliner will make you look like the evil lady with horrendous makeup and disgusting long nails from Shakthimaan then let me assure u it wont ;)

• Comes in a tapered plastic bottle that pop written over it in the exact shade of the liner.
• Color is a summery orange that is warm and brightens your peepers.
• The brush handle is efficient in providing good grip and the brush is perfect for drawing thin lines.
• Sets very fast. Like in seconds.

• It has a glossy finish that lasts for less than half an hr after which it settles to a matte finish.
• The liquid glides on very smoothly on the eyes. No pulling ot tugging. Orange definition in a single stroke!
• Did not flake.
• Did not smudge but if u tend to rub ur eyes then it will peel off ;)
• Is not waterproof but is water resistant in the sense it will not drip off ur eyes when u splash ur face with water but using a wet cotton ball will easily remove the liner.

• It lasted on my lids for approx 5.5 hrs :)
• Price: 350/-

VERDICT :

I am liking the fact that the liners are easy peasy to apply and come in different shades! Colored liners are the fool proof way to jazz up any occasion ;)

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm Stain in Rendezvous Review and Swatches!

I have this friend lets call her T cuz tat's her profession ;) She is crazy about Orange in Makeup! Has an enviable collection of blushers and lipsticks in shades of orange ( mayb eyeliners too! ). And whenever we talk about makeup *which is more than often* I start craving for orange.So the good news?? Her Orange obsession has totally rubbed on me and u will see Orange Love on the blog ;) Bad news?? My wallet is giving me a cold stare!

Revlon has launched 10 shades in the Just bitten Kissable balm stain range. All the shades are just gorgeous!

• These look like cute chubby crayons with a twist able mechanism. 
• Priced at 600/- bucks.Pretty expensive but I needed these for office wear!
• The shade is warm orange but looks coral  on me. Weird! But this color is totally wearable. If u r sum1 afraid of orange lipsticks u can give this a whirl :)

• It has a minty fragrance and feels cool on the lips on application which disappears within a min or so.
• Has a balmy texture and does not pull or tag over the lips.
• U need well exfoliated and moisturized lips to ensure the stain does not settle into fine lines.
• The balm like feel vanishes after half an hr or so.Lips did not feel dry for 4 hrs and the emphasis on dry flakes/peels was evident only towards the end of the day. 

 

•  Pigmentation is sheer but due to being light weight u can build up the intensity :) 
• Bleeding does not occur. 
• Staying power is 5-6 hours on my lips. It does fade a little after meals on the inner part but it does not look patchy :)

VERDICT :
 I am liking these so much that I could hug them if that was possible. But Revlon and their pricing keep me baffled. U ought to check out this range if u r on the lookout for long wear lip colors that don't make people go " Ahh So u r wearing a lipstick! Is it healthy to wear one??"  U can get a pink stain and fool people into thinking u got natural pink pout  :D

Lipstick Love : Colorbar Velvet matte Lipstick in Obsessed Orange Review and Swatches!

Finally! Yay I possess the ever elusive Obsessed Orange shade from the Colorbar Velvet Matte Range! :D

And I wanted to flaunt it through a review ;)

• The packaging is pretty good.Cylindrical case with the lipstick color displayed at the end of the tube.
• Sturdy and Travel friendly.
• The shade is a Fanta Orange. A color tailor made for the warm undertones.
• The texture I felt is softer and creamier than the other Colorbar lipsticks I own from the range.
• Settles into fine lines but does not look obvious.

• Formula is drying since it is matte.Dry lips need a good prep consisting of exfoliation and good dose of moisturization before application.
• Finish is as mentioned matte.True matte lipstick.
• Single swipe provides medium coverage.For a tint, pat on the color with ur ring finger :)
• Lasted for about 4 hours on me.I needed numerous applications of lip balm the whole time.
• The tint it leaves behind on my lips is uneven.
• Priced at Rs.250/.

• The Inglot 37 lipstick (orange) leaner more towards red while this one is plain orange.IMO these 2 shades are very different.Personally I like the Inglot one :)
• The Obsessed orange shade does not look popping on me but if u r dusky it would certainly look like an explosion of orange color in a good way of course :)

VERDICT:
Well, if it is possible to have orange lips naturally then this might be my "that" orange shade ;) But the fact that I am not a fan of matte lipsticks extends to this one too despite the color.

Oranges and Peaches Lip colors!

Being a student my pocket money and hence my purchases are limited!But I do own a few lipsticks.And I wanted to show u the lipsticks that I liked wearing in summers :)


I have also included 2 coral shades:the lotus one and the maybelline moisture extreme one :)

The shades are:

• Maybelline moisture extreme lipstick in Coral pink : The name is apt for this shade.A coral mixed with Pink and is popular from the the collection.Check out d review here .
• Lotus Pure Colors Carnation Lipstick : It is a coral shade with peachy undertone and sometimes even looks coral red on my lips.A confusing shade but brightens up my face in a poof! Reviewed here.

• Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Peach(075) : It is a proper peach color with lil shimmer.I am no fan of frosty shades but this one looks natural on me and the shimmers are not OTT, Reviewed here .

Lotus carnation,Amway Attitude choco temptation,maybelline coral pink,revlon colorburst

• Amway Attitude Lipstick in Choco Temptation : It is orange -brown lipstick with gold shimmers. A favorite shade :) Reviewed here.
  

•  Bourjois Levres Contour Lip pencil in Peche Voluptese : It is a pretty peachy orange shade great for summers :)

• Jordana Lip Liner in Spice : It is a rusty burnt orange shade but won't hold in Chennai heat.

• NYX Round Lip gloss in Peach : It is a peach gloss with pinkish undertones to it.A great everyday lip gloss :)

Skin/Haircare of the Week #4 :Dark Choco and Oranges!!

• Dark chocolate is a great product for ur skin.

It provides UV protection and increases blood flow to the skin and gives u a healthy hydrated skin ;)
So smudge some Bournville over ur face as u chomp the yummy chunks :D

• Oranges

Orange oil helps a great deal for acne prone skin and also to maintain youthful skin!!
But u can substitute it with dry powdered orange peels :) Use the powder with rose water for a glowing skin or incorporate in ur normal mask!!
